we always hear (via the media) about how prison life is like a holiday camp. T.v's, gyms, 3 hot meals a day etc. So, if it's so much like a holiday camp, why arn't people queing to get in?
OK, so I'm been facetious, but to hear some people talk, jail is a cushy alternative to freedom.
Just curious here, but would you trade your freedom for a prison cell?
Do you believe everything that the media tells you about prison?

Anyone who has watched the recent documentary on Strangeways would be mad to think it a pleasurable existence.
Nah you're alright thanks..I'll stay where I am:)
It's not a holiday camp. The media would just try and have you believe that.
I don't believe what the media tells us about prisons because I've heard first-hand accounts of prison life.

Being forced to convert to Islam is not what I would like to do. I am not making this up.

It's just mad cons enjoying all the mod cons. I think I enjoy the freedom to walk outside when I want to too much, not when someone tells me I can.

My son is a firefighter and they have to do Fire regulation checks in prisons, not so long ago he went to a certain prison, he said there is a smell and atmosphere that makes you feel uncomfortable. Some of the prisoners were jeering the firefighters saying 'we don't have to work and you do'. One of the firefighters replied 'yes but we can go home for our tea tonight and you can't. Enough said
I know one person who has been in prison, he got 1 hot meal a day. a packed lunch and breakfast was delivered to his cell every day, and that was in an open prison.
I hear a Swedish or a Dutch prison is very comfortable.

You certainly don't want this American one

Hooch made from what? Old potatoes!
I think the media like to get the public worked up about prison, a lot of people who have been inside say different so I would rather take their word for it.
