No we haven't beckersjay the question was answered in the first post and what are you doing scrolling back so far - utter boredom?
Hi again Kate

Now attempting the 1st Kirbymoorside Scout Group quiz called 'All about Him' which is good.

Came back from Hi De Hi land via Hastings yesterday and spent a bomb on fish. Last night we had scallops which I did with grilled bacon, tonight grilled Dover sole and tomorrow grilled wings of skate - I should end up VERY 'brainy' I don't think! The freezer is now full of cod fillet, smoked cod and another wing of skate so if we get snowed in we won't starve!

Speak soon Judy x
Hiya Judy, Oooh handbags at five paces!!! If I look at a puzzle question and it has been answered, I can't be bothered looking any further. I honestly don't mind people reading our boring rubbish or contributing like Starbuckone but if they feel they have to have a "go" then that's sad. Seriously though, we MUST find another method of keeping in touch in case it all goes pearshaped. Right...where was I? Your weekend sounds hilarious - the kind of weekend that Fran and me have a lot to drink and wet ourselves laughing on!!! Feel sorry for your friends though, can't have been good trying to perform in those circumstances.
I don't know HOW you've done that Rainbow Quiz. Must be all the fish!! I keep leaving mine and doing easier little local quizes. How's the McMillan one doing?
Caravans, don't get me started on that!!! Ours isn't much different from how it was when new 15 years ago. They should be subject to MOTs like cars, but site rent apart, the owners take 15% commission if you sell up and 15% commission on new ones bought plus siting fees. A lot of sites insist you buy direct from them so they get money for that too. Our site never used to be like that, there were vans on from the war years (there are still a few Andersen shelters used as sheds!) but since the old lady who owned it died there have been terrific changes. So there you go!
No outings planned at the moment for us. Charlie is making noises about renting a cottage in the New Forest next month but I want to get the van cleared out, give the house a good clean and get THIS D**M cast off before I make any plans.
Cup of tea just arrived so off I go - and visitor for tea (chicken in honey and mustard sauce) so get your thinking cap on for a way to swap e-mail addresses. Much love Kate
Occidental
Sorry, It's DEFINITELY Notting Hill.
Hi Kate

Can't think of another way to keep in touch without the world and his wife knowing our email addresses which isn't good news. Be inundated with spam or whatever.

Rainbow Quiz - loads of questions and answers on the Crossword Solver site. I've still got 8 to solve on the McMillan one. Nearly finished All about Him 5 to get out of 45. Going to tackle It's a dog's life next. 100 questions related to dogs. Not doing at all well with Maud over 50's club In the water, on the water quiz.

What a con with these caravan sites - I had no idea all that went on. Money, money, money.

Speak soon. Love Judy x
Hiya Judy, this is a very quick posting cos all has changed since we spoke yesterday. As the weather is so good, we are going up to the van tomorrow. We are going to sort out a load of stuff for bringing back then Charlie is coming home on his own and leaving me there. I will have a lovely long walk with Beryl (Bill's wife) on Friday then we will go to Kendal on Saturday and sit in the garden having a few and falling out over quiz answers!! Charlie might come back up for me on Sunday or I will come home with B and B on Monday (they only live 10mins drive away at home) so there you go! It's been a real rush today cos went for hair cut this morning then had to shop at Tesco and also been trying to arrange for 10 days in that cottage in the New Forest.
Worry not, I have thought of a good way of exchanging e-mail addresses with no probs. I will explain when I get back. Speak to you Monday or Tuesday and, in the meantime, no aggro!! Must admit, cos you were away at weekend, I had my usual wine quota and got overly-sentimental with the Winner on Saturday and pretty bolshie with some unknown on Sunday. Anyway, off I go to cook now and look forward to next week's contacts. What will they all do without us when they have not got our exciting lives to read about?! Till then, look after yourself, have a great weekend. Kate x
You too Kate - enjoy. It's going to be a nostalgic time for you both. I'm intrigued about a way of keeping in contact and what happened with the Winner on Saturday and unknown on Sunday? Managed to finish the doggy quiz rightly or wrongly. The skate was 'orrible - ammonia - so ended up with a burger!

Love Jx
Hi Kate, Charlie and Ben
Thought I'd drop you a line before I collapse in a heap with the heat - registering 90 degrees here - seriously not funny. Hope it's a little cooler where you are and that you managed to get all the jobs you needed to do done. Must be a very sad and a very nostalgic time for you both as you've obviously spent many, many happy hours in your caravan.
Haven't had a bundle with anyone YET! Got down to 1 on the Macmillan quiz No. 28 and I haven't got a clue.
Looking forward to speaking soon.
Love Judy x
Hi Kate

I've managed to finish the Macmillan Quiz at long last. One to get on the Kirbyside Scout Group Quiz All about Him. All the answers include a word that could be used to describe a male eg.Mr, Sir, Man, Husband, Prince etc.

Eg. Rowan Atkinson's farcical character = Mr Bean.
Clue is foil wrapper hides something you might (or might not) want to dunk. Any ideas? Wonder if it's something to do with a biscuit perhaps.

Did you ever manage to solve the dingbat?

Love Judy x
Hi Kate

How are you doing? Can't be much longer before your cast comes off. I had a fit when they took mine off because my arm was all wrinkly and shrivelled but with a load of moisturizer it soon returned to normal.
In trouble yet again! Had a bit of a bundle over on the crossword solver site on Sunday because I was accused of giving too easier clues for the Macmillan quiz. Then yesterday someone posted again and although I had the answers I didn't respond and neither did anyone else.

Think the foil wrapper one is Viscount.

Are you doing the I Spy on a car journey quiz? I'm completely stuck on 2 clues.

Love Judy x
Oops - Should have said that the ones I didn't answer were for the L plates one.
Hiya Judy, I'm back!! God, I don't know where to start with all your quizes and goings on. Much easier if we are going to e-mail cos I'll have it in front of me and feel I can type a lot more then. Also, we can help one another out with NO GRIEF!! The caravan is over and done with now, gone forever. We packed a lot of stuff up (sweating buckets in the heat cos we had already taken the fan home) and Charlie took it all home and put it in the loft (which is in danger of collapsing). As our properties are fully furnished and equipped we had to keep everything because it will all come in useful one day. I went round to Bill's for an hour then had a lovely relaxing night with the TV and WINE. Friday I had a lovely walk in the sun with Beryl and had fish and chips while watching all the cars floating (when it is high tide the car park on the shore disappears and although there are notices warning people they don't take any notice). Can't tell you how many times I've seen it happen. The water was about six inches above the bottoms of the doors and lots of alarms going off. Anyway, I did some jobs after and lots of friends called round to say goodbye.Saturday Kendal with B and B, lovely lunch in the Italian and quizes in the garden. More friends at night (didn't have to take much wine home)!!! Sunday, the weather broke and Charlie came back and we packed up in the pouring rain. No last walk! Felt absolutely sick at leaving. Been too busy Sunday and yesterday to think about it but it's hitting me now.
Booked our 10 days in the New Forest 5 to 15 November and trying to arrange a trip with Fran later in November.
Right, quizes, doing all the same ones you are doing. One dubious on I SPY IN THE CAR and not looked at the others yet. Keep avoiding the L PLATES. Two short on Holiday Accommodation. Will post those in a minute.
Finally, Do you want to exchange e-mail addresses? If so, I'll give you the details tomorrow. Till then, lots of love, Kate x
Hi Kate
Good to hear from you. Sounds as though you had a very busy time and enjoyable, if nostalgic time, at the caravan. We didn't have a spot of rain here on Sunday. Now you have your break in the New Forest to look forward to. We're off this weekend to Hayling Island which has got to be an improvement on Hi De Hi and in November we are going to Eastbourne for a few days to celebrate my birthday. Stuck on 2 on the I Spy quiz nos. 35 and 44. What's the Holiday Accommodation one? Yes, it would be great to exchange e-mail addresses because I find print offs of our replies very difficult to read. Be interested to see how we are going to manage it though?
Alan's driving the mini bus from where we live this evening. He's doing a local theatre run - pick up from here at 7pm with return journey at 10pm. Look forward to hearing from you.
Lots of love Judy x
Hi again Kate
Now got 35 and 44 from asking on this site. Both so obvious once given the answer. Which one are you dubious about?
Love Judy x
Kate, Kate, where art thou Kate?
I' m here Judy, I'm here!!! Been having a busy day. Charlie has set a new e-mail address up for me so I can talk to you on my note book without getting all his thousands of jokes, spam, crap stuff! I only have a couple of friends who e-mail me every blue moon so he just shouts down to let me know but
we will be much more prolific!!! Got the dubious I-spy now. It WAS Chevrons. Two holidays ones still in the Unanswered Questions list. Cast comes off Monday, Thank God!!, Was that all? I am rushing to cook tea before Number One Son calls on his way home from work.

Right, important bit, we have a mobile which we never use - it is always turned off. We will turn it on so you can text me your e-mail address on it then I will text I have received it on my usual phone so you'll have the number and I will email you AND WE ARE IN BUSINESS!! The number is 07770773273. (Not that having my mobile number is anything to do with the plan but you will have it anyway). Off to do smoked haddock now - hopefully not ammonia like your skate. Probs be in touch tonight, Kate xx
Hi Kate

Just sent you a text with my e-mail address. Smoked haddock, poached egg and mash yummie. Think it's only skate that has the ammonia problem - it's the sting bit in it I think. I put chevrons too so we can't both be wrong? Can I give you any help with the L plates one? Not doing the holiday one bit might be able to assist. Delighted to hear that the cast is coming off on Monday but please, please don't be shocked at what you see - it will quickly go. Wish I could be with you for a bit of moral. I'm off for a lie down in a minute - got a thundering headache - the guy next door has been rebuilding his house, garden shed and eveything else by the sound of it. Lots of love Judy x
