Good evening all on another rather chilly night.
Do come in and make yourselves comfortable here in front of the fire in the Great Hall whilst we await the usual sumptuous array of drinks and nibbles.
Sadly, lordalex cannot be with us this evening as he is tied up.
I did warn him about trying macrame again, but he's a game old bird and insisted on giving it another go.
Uncle Joe is assisting with the big scissors but it looks as though they will be at it for some hours yet.
For tonight's raffle, so far I have
A small ball of macrame twine
A bag of barley sugars
A set of binoculars...one lens gone wonky.

as to the Butler and Mamya:
Like the touch of rain Mamya was
On Castle ABer's flesh and hair and eyes
When the joy of walking out thus
Has taken LieInKing by surprise:
With the love of the storm the Butler burns,
He purrs, he laughs, well I know how,
But forgets when he returns
As we shall not forget Mamya 'Go now'.
Those two words shut a Portcullis door
Between them and the blessed icy rain
That was never shut before
and will not open again
Not sure that this is really true as the Croc has the key tonight.

Thank you Ladyalex. When I've finished my drink I think I will have to be heading home. I've got to polish my walking boots and make my sandwiches for tomorrow's walk. Will the croc be a problem when I go across the drawbridge? Should I take some cream crackers with me to throw to him in order to distract him?
Have not seen the firies for ages. Perhaps they have some new recruits?
Okay Kate, open the corned beef, bung it on some toast then folat it on the soup. When it is hot, crumble some crackers on the top. I'll make somebread an jam doorsteps for afters. If we keeppouring the booze down them tey'll never notice what they are eating.
