in return good feline Buttler, I offer thee these words to reflect the Eester season:
Twas the day before Easter and through the Castle lairs,
ABers were busy cooking their Party wares.
The tailcocks were all coloured so petal and bright,
All things were "go" for Mamya’s special night.
The snacks were waiting, all decorated with Rosemund care,
In hopes that Lady A soon would be there.
Our little Laird Alexandered was drunk in his bed,
While visions of tailcocks rolled round his head.
The Roffle was ready, prepared by the Lady’s fair hand
The telly already warming for the later MoDay band
The Castle verse all written by the Bard, ever so tight
All things were "green" for the “Mad Over 50s” Club night.
And Nungate in her lacy jammies with Llama on her lap,
had just settled down for a quick little slinky, snorey nap.
When outside the window she heard a Mrs O noise,
She sprang from her chair and jumped right o’er Percyp’s toys.
As quick as a flicrat to the window she flew,
She pulled up the shade and , OH, what a gness view.
The moon on the Castle moat cast a Lady J triffid glow
And the Croc blew the cat’s cards to and then fro.
Then all of a percyp sudden from owdhamer nowhere,
Came some lively ABers, hopping here, hopping there!
Leading the group with a tail long and funny
Was a plump LieInKing...That's a Buttler - No Easter Bunny!
The ABers hopped past, one, two , three, four,
LieInKing called out and then there were more.
"Come Alba! Come, Suezy! Come, Raven! Come, Polar!
Now hop along! Hop along! Hop to the Bar!"
So up on each Hall step the ABers did hop,
With baskets of tailcocks (Let's hope they don't drop)!
Just at that moment, on the porch down below,
Came the stomping of feet 'Twas the Lion we know!
As Nungate stepped from her window she heard a loud sound.
Through the door came the Lion with a leap and a bound.
He was furry, ratty soft from his maggiebee head to feet.
To see him so close was really quite neat.
He was surrounded by tailcocks that had been carefully tried.
Snacks galore he soon to his coats closet hide.
His eyes were like Flumpy’s, his nose was so white, so black,
And she couldn't be too sure but she thought he’d cracked.
He had a kind face and a Jumbo fluffy tail
That bobbed up and down like Sloopy with a sail.
A twitch of his nose and a flick of his ear
His way of saying "You've just Polar-Bear not to fear"
He uttered no sound as he hopped all about,
Hiding the snacks and flagons of ‘cocks, leaving no doubt,
That the Easter Lion had come like he does every year...
Bringing Sunny’s of happiness to Lady A, Mamya and ABers so dear
