I have been asked to write a simple quiz of about 20 questions for a one-off afternoon club for pensioners. Please help, with a suggestion of an easy topic first, and then all join in with suggestions for a question with the answer. I will welcome everybody's help, and look forward to your suggestions. It is not going to be a quiz you can all send for. It will be an on the day only quiz. Just for fun and just for the pensioners.
Hiya Winner. You couldn't expect your mate not to answer could you? Let me know if you are going with songs of yesteryear and I'll think of some. Other topics oldies like are flowers and birds and seaside towns of English. I'll have a think tomorrow if you let me know which subject. Love K x
KUSTARD, I am so pleased to hear from you. At the moment, we are going with songs, but if I am ever asked to do another, depending on how this goes, I will bear your suggestions in mind. If you think of a question/answer, please feel free to offer it, I will choose my 20 from all the suggestions given. All gratefully received. xxx
I think a general knowledge quiz would be quite a good idea with wider ranging subjects as not everyone is interested in music and also the choice of questions would be endless.
Oh sorryThe Winner I have just read your last post you have decided songs this time round, are you sure none of the people in the club are on the internet or they will be seeing all the questions beforehand?
I wish they had given this job to you vakayu!
However, this time, lets go for the music, and see what happens.
I do think, that KUSTARD's idea of seaside towns sounds very good.
p.s. none of the pensioners will be on the computer. They will just turn up at "the club" in the afternoon and be given a "little quiz" to entertain them. They will not see the questions beforehand.
Oy Winner!!!! Been thinking of songs now not towns!!!! Thinking of oldies for people in their 70s (no, not that old yet!!!)
Who sang the theme tune for the film April Love - Pat Boone
Who sang the Three Coins in a fountain theme - Frank Sinatra
Which film did "Moon River" come from? - Breakfast at Tiffanys
Will think of towns now if you want or more songs tomorrow!!
KUSTARD, thinks of songs for now. I think the seaside towns would be a fabulous suggestion for the next quiz (IF they ask me). I will let you all know.
I don't know how far back to go,this is 1959
