Good evening and welcome to the Mad Over Fifties Club. First of all may I take a moment to thank Daisynonna for stepping into the breech and hosting our last meeting down at Daisy's Farm, and I must add, at very short notice too.
The tailcock for tonight is The Winning Post (year of the Horse)
Our hot plate special for tonight is a Buffet of Chinese Food, (well it is Chinese New Year after all) all the Chinese classics are there, and on the pudding trolley, apple fritters, and pineapple fritters! Later on we have Lion Dancers, and in the Home Cinema Room, we are showing a selection of Chinese films, Red Cliff (a personal favourite of mine) Crouching Tiger etc. and The House of Flying Daggers (visually stunning) Of course no meeting of the Mad Over Fifties would be complete without our selection of volly vonts, canopies and horses doovers, or a visit from everyone's favourite local band The Tone Deafs, this week they will be playing a selection of Golden Oldies, and as always the Minstrels will be back in the gallery with their usual Madrigals and toccattas.
Yet again owing to inclement weather the bungee will be out of use this evening, as will the hot tub, (too exposed up on those towers) Down in the cellars, the indoor pool is ready for use, and swimsuits are available for those who haven't brought one (skinny dipping is frowned upon at the Towers) Our library is well stocked with all the latest magazines and periodicals, the latest edition of "Cow Punchers Weekly" has only just arrived!
I must say I missed you all last week, and I was touched to read all of your messages wishing me a speedy recovery, thank you.

A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals tonight.

carriages at midnight.

Easy Tony. Selective memory. We ladies are renowned for it. Funny, I wanted to put a k in that word.

Streakers in the park Daisy? I don't think so but anything is possible! I do not like to think that anyone would wish to go skinny dipping in the indoor pool, though they are welcome to in the lake, or even down at the beach, but never where I can see, or in the street, might scare the horses
Streakers - perhaps they were delivering the bacon....?
Question Author
Bacon is never delivered here at the Towers DT, we are self sustaining, we grow all of our own provender, one way or another, even wine! Having thought about it, gin is still delivered, must look into that one....
Sadly no bananas to make a super sandwich with the bacon.
Question Author
yet he claims to dislike nanas ..... you're just funnin' aren't you?
Ode to Tony in this Year of the Horse

Tony's wife uses saddles and force
to make him behave like a horse,
and he's entered next week
in the Irish Grand Sweep -
Do you think these are grounds for divorce ?

Take into account, if Tony could,
that it might be soft going with mud,
and then if he'd win
He'd be raking it in
and also be put out to stud.

Sorry, was off on the hunt. I don't mind not hearing things but when there is a high pitched noise ie Boss speaking or Mum yelling at a cat blooming heck I can hear this sharp pinging in my ear does my head in! But I trust your back will be ok soon too Daisy - just wish I knew what I had done to mine.
Who is funning nun?
And there I thought that Edinburgh gin was made chez the Castle

The town made it onto the news down here this last week, the banning of cars parking near your schools at drop-off and pick up time......
Mine is easily explained Queenie. Back gets cold, back goes into cramp spasms. Just need to keep warm.
Dreaming of warmth and sunshine.
LOL, like the ode, DT.
Question Author
You mean our little school thing made the news down south DT? Best beloved isn't totally enamoured by it as he used to drive past those road junctions when taking Queenie to work in the mornnings, now he has changed his route! Actually going down those school roads was a nightmare at the best of times the speed bumps are pretty high and make for a bumpy ride! (we sometimes use that road to take my mum to the hairdresser! - short(ish) cut)
Pics and all - peculiarly of the main street and not the school(s)
Question Author
Wouldn't show pics of the school DT, elf and safety and paedophiles and all that ..... hope the town looked good (though I think it's time the Christmas lights were down)
Fancy any of my rifle prizes Tony?
Well, No 6 looks interesting, Daisy probably because of ladies undies though ![i not sure if I can work out what the other cryptic prizes are though].
No zebras did board Nugate's Chinese ark
Only horses, two white, and two dark
But for forty black nights
There were no bedroom lights
Which caused zebras galore to disembark!
Dad doesn't take me down that way anyways.....he always goes down the other way (except weekends)
4 letters Tony, a soft cheese.
