Good evening and welcome to Nungate Towers.
Igor is waiting by the main entrance to assist members with their coats cloaks and broomsticks, though in this pleasant warm weather he may only have to conceal broomsticks this evening.
In view of the pleasantness of the evening, I think we should all adjourn to the beach and hold our meeting there. Plant has set up the barbecue and
the coals are glowing beautifully ready for the goodies we have ready to toss on the grill. There are steaks, burgers, chicken, hot dogs you name it we probably will have it ready to barbecue, there is also a wide variety of salads and other side dishes, not forgetting the famous volly vonts, canopies and horses doovers. We have also requested the presence of Toni the Ice Man and his ice cream truck - 99's all round tonight!
Later the Tone Deafs will be playing, and they have set up a makeshift stage on the beach and will be playing a variety of summer time hits from days gone by............. the Minstrels can set up in the gallery with their usual madrigals and tocattas but they will only be playing to the portraits on the walls as we shall all be down by the sea, paddling! (one of these days I'll find out how they are getting in!) For those members not wishing to indulge themselves by the sea, the gardens are looking particularly pretty and we have set up a marquee in the grounds serving suppers and there will also be a mobile disco arriving later for dancing!
There are plenty of other outdoor diversions for our members, the race track is just waiting for racers to grab a cars for a few circuits of the track,
the maze is open too (keep turning left) We have just opened up the pink grotto to visitors, George the Dragon having gone on his holidays means members are permitted a peek at his far from humble home (just do not touch his treasure otherwise he will be back in a heartbeat, and I prefer guests ungrilled!)
As part of our usual fare the library is open to members as is the gym, indoor pool and other various diversions. It is a bit too warm in the conservatory but the Triffid is thriving, and the spider monkey is enjoying the extra heat.
I hope Queenie will be along later to tell us of the bit of excitement we had earlier on this week - which I found quite funny - she didn't!
For the rofl tonight I offer:
Half a dozen cardboard boxes (empty)
1 metre black fabric with gold stars (project didn't work!)
another bag of odd socks......

A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals

carriages at midnight

Something je ne sais quoi about red hair.
My family tartan is Bruce through the female line.
Question Author
He's more of a Champagne blond now, used to be a bright carrot top! Was certain Queenie would have red hair - suspect grand children might!
Family tartan is Kerr - we were border reivers in the dim dark distant past!
(cattle stealing across the border and so on....)

I almost forgot. I have a tale to tell.

Picture the scene, Monday evening, I am safely ensconced on sofa with my latest book on my kindle fire, no lights as kindle lights up. I hear a cat playing in the kitchen, but what is there to worry about right? Later Queenie deigns to come down from her chambers, living room dark save for light from my kindle, me? not bothered by the dark, kindle lights etc.
Tell her cat is in kitchen playing with something, she goes into the kitchen, (lights on by this time) Teddy (our youngest) comes running into living room something in his mouth, don't know what it is. Queenie after him tells him to drop it, he does she thinks it's a leaf, (probably carried in from outside on someone's feet) anyway she goes to pick it up when she realised it was a mouse!! After the hysterics dies down (hers not mine!) Now I've asked this question before what sort of stupid mouse would come into a house where five cats live? Teddy grabs mouse and scuttles behind table, Queenie asks what's to be done as she doesn't want to touch it, I suggest she pops outside and brings in a flower pot and cover the corpse. She does. What are we to do? Decide to remove the body, so we thought some card slid under the flower pot should keep the mouse in the pot so we can remove it from the house, only the mouse we discovered isn't dead! She dashes out to garden for a large stone and puts it on top of the flower pot and we wait for Mr. N's arrival home from work! She said to me "I really thought it was just a leaf Mum until I saw it was a wee bit more full bodied!!" Mr.N safely removed said mouse from premises. I asked no questions. Surprised by Teddy, he is so timid and nervous! Best mouser in the house!
LOL, great when they bring you a pressie isn't it, nungate.
Question Author
He wasn't really bringing a present Tony, he was playing with it (I think) I suspected there might be something lurking under the (new) freezer in the kitchen the other day as they all seemed fascinated by the "underneath" we've had mice in the garage for a few months (one of the reasons I want a big clearance out there) Henry does love a wander round out there he's caught the scent. I think we have suicidal mice Tony.
You need Samarimice nun.
Question Author
ha ha ha Daisy! Maybe they do, I shall let the cats do their work!

Our old cat Jess would have been on them in a heartbeat, he was a hunter.
Now he did bring me presents usually blackbirds and still alive so I was able to set them free, mice he could keep! (and spiders!) I miss that old boy of mine, he was an absolute sweetie
nungate when our cat ( Daisy ) catches a mouse she usually throws it about a bit before she kills it.
Question Author
don't think there was any throwing involved, really he was just faffing with it. He's still very young, not quite a year old yet!
Yeah, still a kitten realy, nungate, I'm sure the throwing about bit will come in time.
Be afraid, Tony, be very afraid. Daisy X purr
LOL, put those claws away, Daisy.
Have been carefully cultivating them.
