Has anyone managed to do the Crossdoubt puzzle in the daily express.
You have to make two intersecting five letter words from the following letters.
AEKKLMNPR
They intersect on the middle letter.

Does it have to be the middle letter of both words?
If not, PLANK/MAKER would work

Are you sure of the letters? I can't see any other pair than PLANK/MAKER as Elliemay suggested

Yes I'm sure. I have the paper in front of me and have double checked twice.

If there's only 2 vowels surely the centre letter must be "A" or "E".

How are the letters arrived at or are they simply printed in the paper that way?

Yes the letters are just listed and you have the grid to fit them in. The grid pattern is different most days.

I've tried with plank, Knarl, krank and klank too.

IMO nothing works. May be a misprint. Seems odd to have 2 letter 'k'

I did wonder if there was a misprint too. The answer will be in tomorrow's paper. But I'll carry on for a bit longer in the hope something will click.
