Yes, i think your letters are not right- eggshell (but seems odd as egg is in the clue) and the 4,4 one seems to be an 8- kinships

Thanks. So persist(s?) was the clue for lasts/labor- I'd wrongly assumed persist and labor were the two answers that gave the R and B
