Cod could be COD - Cash on Delivery (song or album) or Call of Duty (computer game) but i can't think of a singer that fits the bill (Ray Cash had an album called Cash on Delivery but doesn't fit alphabetically)
Given that question is typed as COM rather than COME maybe the keyboard is dodgy and the clue should say CODE not COD?

I hope this doesn't become another of the many music questions I subscribe to on here where things go very quiet after an initial flurry and we never find out the full details or what the answer was.

It's a shame they didn't quite fit alphabetically, danny, as a chub (as in Chubby Checker) is a fish. I tjink the name carroll comes from a term for a warrior -and one site says butcher, so maybe that includes fishmonger!
