This is not for a quiz but for information for a lesson which my daughter is planning.I wondered whether any regular quizzers might have come across the answer. Her internet search has revealed only that the koala ,which was a likely candidate is not actually a member of the bear family and that ,despite its name, the sloth bear is actually one of the fastest. Any help will be much appreciated.

I seem to recall Fozzie wasn't the sharpest.
Panda? They are real bears.

Slowest at what? Moving?

Yes slowest moving. Thanks for answers so far and for the link Toorak.Panda seems a likely candidate (though the children would probably prefer to talk about Paddington or Yogi )
Agree having googled Panda seems most likely although speed isn't a factor in the description of most bears.
When you're running away from a Grizzly Bear, speed is of the essence!
Tilly2 don't ever want to be in situation but running isn't best bet, but stand still and confront the bear.

When running away from a bear it's important that you can run faster than your companion.
The one that doesn't catch you
