Yes Neti Lassie dogs are Scotch Collies. Like in the films. Ours was called Cindy she was a bit yappy but never aggressive.
I've looked on the net and you can get those Tanning wipes in Boots so I think I'll have a look next time I go to town.
My plumber has been this afto with some tarmac stuff you can buy in bags and levelled the pavement with my garden edge where it was crumbling away a bit where I done the edging and didn't have enough so I have to wait for him to get some more and come and finish it. He is only doing it in his spare time. Hope he doesn't want paying. I'll give him the money for the stuff and a coffee that should do. He's getting mafrried next year and has invited me + friend. It's going to be in Matlock so looking forward to that.
I have to tell you that Derby have just won a football match. Beating Leeds 2 ~ 1 and it was even on the telly.
I thought we were due to have rain today but it has been really nice. All I've felt is a bit of drizzle while I was cutting the grass.
Cuppa time......

Hi Neti, I know Bakewell very well. Stayed there for a weekend and went walking in the area. I know The Rutland Arms but we didn't stay there. We stayed at a small pub down the road from it. The next day we went on to Chatsworth House, which I think is a fantastic house. and we walked right round the perimeter of the grounds took us almost all day. Phew. I was young and fit then. well younger it was in the 90s

well the reason I am up at stupid o clock this morning is a hedgehog. let the dogs out for a pee at 02,.30 and idiot dog tries to retrieve it...pick it up yelps, paws it yelps, picks it up yelps and so on. I find lead, bring in idiot...his bro is stood there looking resigned..."I know he's my bro but family members can be sooooo embarrassing"
Anyway i take dogs in whereupon idiot starts to pace around the house whining and carrying on so in the interests of peace and quiet for the household and the neighbourhood, I check that hedgie has legged it, let dogs out again and log on. I thoght that dogs were good for your mental health and blood pressure??

Part two...dogs are trotting peacefully round garden them idiot finds the hole under next door's fence where hedgie has come through....starts the hound music up and starts to dig frantically. I have to rush out in night shirt (long tee) and haul him in, can't settle to sleep, too early for walkies (dark) so sit and fume till its time to go out...we are back now, have had coffee dogs are sleeping angelically (ha!) so back to bed till 08.30 when i rouse DH as he is out biking this morning.
Morning everyone. How are you all. I had very sharp pains up my bottom last night, fleeting but painful, but it could have been my spinal prob which plays up occasionally only it felt different, just to cheet your Sundays up.
Have to do the shopping today as we've all been busy up to now. Dread it, all the girries loking for things we don't have!
DH, jno and shaney and Mr s, I do prattle on but my thoughts are constantly with you. Enjoy bike ride DH, sounds like you are improving., and don't make woofy worry too much!!!

Morning ☼...
Well I love the randomness in these threads, haha...from pooh sticks to late night hedgehog safaris and tarmac to posh hotels in Derbyshire. Bakewell's a lovely place but at weekends & bank holidays it's bumper to bumper traffic & queues at the pudding shop. Actually I don't like proper Bakewell pudding, it's very heavy & sickly, I prefer the tart stylie.
I get that pain neti, I call it poker up the bum but it's correct name's Proctalgia Fugax - eat ya heart out doc! :o) It's common & nowt to worry about if it's only occasionally with no other symptoms. You were bunged up recently as I recall, that can cause it.
Good to see you sounding brighter shaney, keep your chin up! x

I can't stop laughing at woofy's dog with the hedgie...why do dogs lose their senses when they're faced with one? Charlie did the same...'I'll stick my nose on it...ouch! it hurts, better try again...' Dogs should come with a warning that they're not always good for health. I have to say though that my last dog saved my sanity many times. Living with 2 late teens can drive you to the edge & there were days when I'd just leave everything, grab his lead & say 'Come on, we're outa here' & we'd escape down the river for a couple of hours. Things were never as bad when we got back.
Ha Neti. other people's other lives are filled with champagne and illicit romance...I get idiot dogs and hedgehogs.
Well what do you know, I get that proctalgia thing too...it came along with the menopause, along with a spasmy thing that bursts blood vessels in my toes and fingers.
I found by trial and error that taking calmagzinc tablets (big heavy things like toy tombstones) keeps it at bay. Docs were useless the fool I spoke to said he'd never heard of either symptom.
