Of course it does. Lola would have to be a showgirl, Pearl would have to be a singer and of course Pat would have to be a postman.

Of course not.

How do you know that
Yes, 100%.

I have always seen names as 'vibes'. Every name has a different vibe to it, which will resonate differently with different people.

I think from a baby, this vibe is thrown at you, and you take it on if you know it or not.
Common sense.
Danny, I wouldn't dismiss the affect of different words and their tones so easily. These can definitely influence a person.
Flo.......a hooker.

Flo-rence Nightingale Ha! Ha!
My local solicitor is called Susan.
No.
Just considering occupations then.
Names can affect how others act and thus nudge your personality development, but I doubt it has measurable effect on how you make a living.

Anyone every see in the minds eye 'Dominique' as a Bin Man? or Aurelia working on the checkouts in Lidl ?
No. Upbringing influences the person people become.
I think children pick up on tones and vibes, and these influence their thoughts and emotions. The name James will give a different tone and vibe to the name Michael.

If we know it or not, these subtly different vibes do influence thoughts, which lead to influencing emotion, and at the end of the day, character.

The words and tones we use around children is critical, because it shapes them. Names are words, they have the same affect.
Question Author
I don't necessarily mean specific jobs, that was just an example.
Dominique', Aurelia ?
Sure. Very Chardonnay type names.
Banker_Frank.. A name will never influence an occupation or job. No way. It will influence character, which may lead them to those jobs.. but it will never be "My son is called Dave he will be a bin man".
Or Tristram in a car wash?
I couldn't tell you the names of the people who empty our bins.
I certainly wouldn't trust a man called Carlos with my car.

Is it Class? Middle class parents are more likely to call their children certain names, which may reflect their life choices, because of their upbringing rather than the actual name?
