The Daily Telegraph doesn't allow people who've signed up to their 'one free puzzle per day' offer to select a puzzle of their choosing. The only free puzzle that's available is the one that's been selected randomly by the Telegraph. So, as long as you've registered for the site, you can access today's cryptic crossword but no other. If you want any of the others, you have to take out a paid subscription. That will cost you £4.99 (Aus$8.94) per month or £35.88 (Aus$64.29) per year.
If you'd rather have that 'from the horse's mouth', here's the reply I got from the email I told you about last week:
"Dear Mr xxxxxx,
Thank you for your communication to The Telegraph.
Further to your enquiry, I can advise that you will be able to enjoy our daily Free puzzle by logging into our puzzles page here:
https://www.puzzles.telegraph.co.uk/
Please note that the Free puzzle each day is preset and chosen automatically and randomly. It is not a puzzle that can be chosen by the user. The free puzzle each day will be designated with "Free to play" within a purple banner. However printing off a puzzle is only available for puzzle subscribers.
The Telegraph Puzzles website is a paid for subscription and is currently £4.99 if paid Monthly or £35.88 if an Annual payment which equates to £2.99 a month.
Should you require any further assistance, please do reply to this email so I can help.
Yours sincerely,
Declan Hayes
