Took me 6 today, usually it's 3-4.

I have a long running streak going back about six weeks. But I do find that within an hour of doing it I have completely forgotten what the word was. Should I be worried?

I hate it when there are so many possibilities - here is my pattern for today:

I agree.  Too many possibilities.  I had three letters right on line 2 and four right on lines 3 and 4.  I got it on line 5.

Yes, Ellipsis, we must have. I also immediately forget it after answering so delighted to hear that it's normal!

Yes I remember being close early on like ellipsis but made the mistake of trying to jump straight there and took several attempts. With hindsight I should have tried something completely different earlier with new letters. For example if I start with ADIEU and get 2 matches some use the tactic of going for something like SPORT next

I start with something different every day, just a spur of the moment decision. I honestly can't remember what I started with today!

It took me six today.

Just a few days ago I got it on the first try.

Six shows you worked it out.  One was a lucky guess.

I start with a different wire every time.

I got three letters in the right place on my first guess, and then got no more letters until the fifth guess, when I got it all right - so nothing in the wrong place. A very unusual result today.

I got it in 3 today after I got 3 letters correct on the 2nd go.

5 for me .  I hate the ones like today where you nearly get in in 2 or 3 and then end up with 6 and phew!  I usually do it in three or four.  It  was the turtles that threw me on Tuesday!

I just needed the 2nd and 4th letters so fell lucky with my guess.  I could only think of two words it could be as I had already used R
