There seems to be a long felt want for a place where they can perform their religious rites.

Build it and they will come, the islamification of the lakes.

Cyndi Lauper, anyone?

No. No. No.  Go and live where there is one already there please.

What if there is no housing where there is already a mosque? Do you expect houses to be built to accommodate them?

So you think all the Muslims who live in the area should up sticks and move. Even the 40/50 Muslim doctors (and their families) who live there, not to mention other professions. Right ho!

They can drive to the nearest mosque.

The community is supportive.  They don't know what they're supporting.  Barmy!

wait until they hear the morning call to prayer

//wait until they hear the morning call to prayer//

should not be allowed in my view - thought we had restrictions on obtrusive noise...

Question Author

when they here the call to prayer they will think they are not in the uk anymore, maybe they are all deaf or labour supporters.

Why are they building a mosque in a place where there aren't many Muslims?

Is it the old 'build it and they will come'?

Question Author

maybe next it will be islamic builders for affordable homes there, id imagine a madrasa school of indoctrination will be built next...

Not all councils allow the call to prayer to be heard outside the mosque; some councils restrict it to once every Friday and some outright forbid it.

There are several mosques in my town and I've never heard it outside.

fender; you should write fantasy novels. You're wasted here.

I had the same problem with church bells. Disgusting!

"The people I'm in contact with, they are extremely supportive," he said.

Well they will be if he's chatting with Muslims.

^^^ As Barry indicates, local authorities generally either limit the times of the adhan or ban it completely.  e.g. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-tees-63747619

Given the sizes of the congregations in many churches these days, I suspect that there might well be more practising Muslims around that area than there are practising Christians.

I suspect you are wrong.
