OK I'm at it again-seems to be one forward and three back.
Thanks to all who have helped me so far, but still hunting.
JimJools, if you're there perhaps we can compare notes.

However with the letters you've given me, it should give me a lead. I still don't have the first idea about the clues in bold type & their significance but will get to that later. Just a stab in the dark - is 2d 'base cut'?
can't find it anywhere yet. many thanks

That is the most fiendish thing I've ever come across - needless to say 'cryptics' are not my thing, my brain won't work that way & I'm in awe of those that do.
How some people got it out in 3-4 days amazes me. Thank you for all your help, kazizere, without it I'd have thrown it in the corner ages ago in frustration. I'll look carefully at the next one-ha ha, I know I'll have a go. all the best, seekeerz
Hi seekeerz
So glad you got it at last!
Hope I didn't help too much :!
I love anything that makes my brain work and so couldn't put it down until I'd solved it, much to the dismay of my family!
Hope you're having better weather than us, it's just started to drizzle here in Gloucestershire.
Never mind we've only got 4 weeks until the next one!
Kind regards, Karen.
Hi Karen
I'm very much the same, I like to keep my brain 'on the hop' a bit, but like you my family aren't too impressed sometimes - the dogs & cats don't mind too much, but hubby not overly keen, especially late at night.
We're having our usual autumn - some glorious days like today and then we get a few stinkers - strong winds and heavy rain - we had wonderful weather all over Easter until the Monday when it poured.
We have a Saturday Crossquiz in our local Adelaide paper which is childsplay in comparison to the Sunday Telegraph, which we get as the 'Expat's' version, weekly -
[Tony is the expat] and now thanks to Shaneystar2 I've added the Generalist to the list !!
Thanks again for your help - all the best - Steff
