Help please really stuck with these two.
11A -Improve quality of spirit backed by bright partial spirit
(8) ??D??T?L
and 29A - miltons floodgate is not tightly fitted we hear (5) ?LU?E
I would be grateful for any help.

Redistil ? reverse of bright = lit - not sure how the redis part works. Sider = partial spirit??

Sluse = Milton's spelling of sluice (sounds like s'loose)

The 'sider' part is a reference to someone who takes sides...ie is a person ('spirit') who is partial.

I suspect that I - Quizmonster - was a member of AnswerBank before Quizmonkey, so I think we need to be referred to in abbreviated form as QM1 and QM2 respectively!

yes kayakamina - iT IS ALL GETTING TOO MUCH FOR ME. i HAVE BEEN PLAYING BOWLS ALL AFTERNOON AND AM NOW IN A RIGHT OLD MESS!!
I need answers to 11A not 29A like my muddeled brain has just asked. Please anybody help me with with 11A.
