Anyone done Puzzle 3 yet on page 53? I'm sure the answer must be 'sunbed' - 'What do we fight over when lying by the pool?', but my letters have ended up as S U N B A E. Where have I gone wrong. Anyone know please?

hi, got the same problem as you, you haven't gone wrong
22 across bathing 23 across plait 20 down evade & 18 down table 24 across essay as you say it spells sunbae SHOULD be SUNBED, page 56 codecracker- shaded areas spell out the answer THERE are NO shaded areas in the answer grid ! page 59 -10 across indulges 3 down insulted & with the other letters the word spells out SUNLASSES should be SUNGLASSES ! i have sent an email to pick me up explaining the printing errors and what answer are we supposed to fill in for page 56 where there are no shaded squares? but they haven't replied yet, will send them another one now, let you know what happens.

hi clare, yes puzzle 12 doesn't say what the answers supposed to be , went through it and can't find currency so am presuming thats the answer, have sent pickmeup loads of emails complaining but still haven't had a reply! by the way cant seem to fathom out this months forwards in chat puzzles with prizes, have tried everything ! the page is virtually rubbed out now!
think they've made a mistake as well 'cause i've been at it since last week and still can't sort it out! grrr (think i'll go & get me large G & T ) .... :-)

just seen your answer on my puzzles with prizes, page 13- comp id 5259 i thought we had to by the question marks in the top line? if so i've got CHEER - contentment and peaCe would be my definition of tHe good lifE

Hi Allotment 10, I have replied to that Chat 100 (you will
see I didnt get the answer. BUT in Pick me up I DID
find currency it runs up the page from line 9 go in 9 and
up towards the top donkey

thanks clare, have found it now, so whats supposed to be the answer? oh dear think pickmeup have dropped a right ******* here! am going to send another email 2morrow now, that'll be five i've sent! do you think they might reply after all that lot!

Gosh, what a mess! Thank you all, I'm glad it's just not me going round the bend! Will be interested to hear what they have to say about all the misprints.

well i've had me a couple of G&Ts now so am off to bed , got an early start 2morrow, will keep sending them emails till they reply & will let you all know :-)

oldmegan-have sent 6 emails to pickmeup & all they've done is reply with a "thank you for emailing us, unfortunately we get hundreds of letters every day and will reply as soon as possible" ! will keep on emailing untill we get a result.

OK, thanks a lot. I can't understand how a magazine can let something with so many errors go to print. Wonder who the proof reader was?!?

hi oldmegan, just thought i'd give you an update, still haven't received any any other mail from pickmeup regarding the puzzles only to say they've got my emails, so today i have sat & wrote a letter to the editor, will see if that brings any results!

hi oldmegan, got a reply from the editor today! apologises very much and thanks me for bringing it to his attention, said they would put an apology in the next issue & concerning the answers they are picked at random anyway! when i asked which answer we should put in he said they would pick them out at random anyway! do you really think they'll bother! oh well,at least we tried , happy comping x

Thanks, allotment 10 - what does he mean they are 'picked at random'? That sounds as though you could put any old rubbish on the form as answers and still win if your envelope is picked out of the postbag!

when i spoke to him he said he would reply to the puzzlers on answerbank and apologise , as i explained there were a lot of queries about the puzzles, i really didn't think they would bother as he'd never heard of answerbank, BUT lo and behold he has just sent an apology to us all on my latest moan on q&p's! hope everyone replies, x
