Dottie - I've used this past posting of yours to answer your other questions. Other solvers lay silent threads to pick up on your answers without helping. I am not doing this Quiz but here goes!
I only have thoughts on the second one for which there appears to be three options!
1. PATH (past tense - with a lisp would give this)
This is "All but the present tense [tenth]"
2. BARNOWL (BAR = all except + NOW = present + L)
I cannot see why "tenth" should be L
3. TITHE BARN (used to hold one tenthof the crops for taxes). BAR NONE = All + except present (remove ONE)
and tenth = TITHE [or perhaps simply BARN]
Version 1 is common knowledge on AB
Version 2 is on AB but you have to search hard for it!
Version 3 is my own solution and unknown on AB
Each has its weakness. The choice is yours. I would prefer Version 2, if only I could tie in the L.
Whatever you choose, I would not wish Version 3 to be broadcast to all and sundry!
Any response and I can pick it up on this posting.
Good luck!
