what makes shakesperean heave , we hear, is opening of macbeth. I have sc?i. The i comes from 7 dn which I have as brassing but not convinced i am correct here.

SCYE is the answer to 19A. Pronounced 'shy', meaning throw/heave and also meaning an opening in a garment for a sleeve in Scotland...ie Macbeth country.

Actually, it's pronounced 'sigh'...I just convinced myself it was no more than a version of 'shy' - as in coconut shy - as outlined above!
heave = a sigh (Shakespeare)
