Answer is a British place name which includes the name of a bird.

Sounds like the tenth part of a candle.

I thought somewhere with 'tithe' in its name which would include 'tit' as the name of the bird. Many thanks for help.

could be something with wick in it
There is a place in Derbyshire called Swanwick, but that pretty obscure. But could it be something wick?
this quiz isn't due in until 6th January 2007, a bit early to be asking for answers?
