Ba is one's personal, private Divinity who knows us and takes an interest in us like no other Deity. In Egyptian imagery, it is imagined in the form of a bird hovering above the head that leaves the body at the time of physical death, as witnessed in numerous depictions in Pharaonic and other wealthy families' tombs. "The Dispute between a Man and his Ba" (Berlin Papyrus 3024) is a 4,000 year old hieroglyphic document which was recently translated by Bika Reed, and was meant for initiates of the inner temple.
