Bought the paper for the Madame Bovary DVD so the crossword is new to me and have struggled my way through it. I can't work out 26/27across 'Jet, large flier distracted us from battle (10, 3, 10)'

Tweedledum and Tweedledee

Many thanks Kayakamina. I can recall the rhyme 'Tweedledum and Tweedledee resolved to have a battle etc' but I can't see how it fits the clue.
later in that same poem we find: (from memory)
"Just then flew by a monstrous crow ..." and this puts them off! Hence "jet (black) large flier"!

Also 'Marriage of the frog and mouse'........the boots were black as jet..Tweedle tweedle etc
