The word for which genre of painting or drawing comes from the French for : line for line.
No further clue given by the compiler, and my French dictionary translates - line for line - as - ligne pour la ligne - which does not seem to help, at all.
Please, has anyone any ideas ?

delineation? :O)
There is a style of drawing "ligne claire" as used by Herge in Tintin, but does not translate as line for line , but clear line, so not sure.
Also tried "ligne sur ligne" without success.
