Do you mean 'Maison de Ville' (town house) ?
Could be - Put in City or Set in City
2 different sites have come up with -

put in city
setting downtown

?????????
I don't know this phrase but it could well mean Town Planning.
Not sure about this , as I cannot confirm in dictionary, but having trawled through a few documents in my very rusty
french, it seems to also have the meaning held in curfew/detention.
French is a bit rusty but,
mise (noun Fem) = place
en=in
ville (noun Fem)= city
Place in city.

Do you mean 'mise en veille' ? - which means putting on standby.
Just checked with my French-speaking friend. She says 'Place in Town.'
mise en ville doesn't exist, it is mise en veille which means as said kettledrum putting on standby
