Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

I have been asked to set a quiz, there has to be 40 General Knowledge questions, I have never done one before so out of 40 how many need to be getable and how many to sort the men from the boys so to speak.

There are a few members on here...like Sarumite and Crofter who set quizzes. I am sure they will help when they see your posting. There are web sites available to help also.
Sarumite is usually on first thing in the morning...he will probably see this then and be able to help....good luck!!

Hi Curvylady ... I also set quizzes on a fairly regular basis and agree that it is important that the difficulty level of questions varies, to ensure that the weaker teams are not disillusioned whilst also providing a reasonable test for the more able quizzers.
There is no hard and fast rule, but I would normally aim to set approx 25% easy, 50% middle of road and 25% more testing questions.
You may also wish to break the quiz into sub sections with perhaps 5 questions on specific categories.
There are of course many sources from which questions can be sifted, one of which is the following site .. good luck

and if possible after you've plucked your quiz from the net..check any questions you're not sure of, somewhere else to verify the answers
last week we had 350miles given as the answer to "how long is the M25?"...well maybe if you go round twice or add all the lanes but!!!!
