At least you got the point of my post, if nobody else did. I can't do bold and italic at the same time, either. So could we have a tutiorial, please?

And while you're at it, how do you reduce a full link to one word like 'here'?

It's all right, Aquagility I did too.....but as I'm totally unable to tell you how to do b & i together I didn't see any point in commenting, but perhaps testing
OK, it's (here you put in your text- NB no space after>)

By Jove, I think she's got it!.

Tell us how, kettledrum.
Just start the text with what you want in sequence, eg and then close as necessary

Thank you, logophile. I can't seem to submit an explanation without losing the instructions, but the text coming up in bold & italics!

And now for the ultimate test! We'll see.
Wow! & Whew!
What a wonderful site this is !
Kettledrum, that's why I wrote bold and italic in full !!

L
Yes - I realised that was what I should have done after you'd shown me.
I am still confused! I can get the bold and italic but how do I stop it and revert to normal type ?
Question Author
Thank you both!. kettledrum for diving in without a thought for her own safety, and Logophile for pulling us both out.

Yes, it is a wonderful site. Aq.
Sorry for not responding earlier Aqua .. I did appreciate your comments but have been "on call" most of this morning for one reason or another.
I made the mistake of trying to input both b and i with a single entry, whereas they have to be shown separately as you have now been shown by others.
I don't usually bother to input this form of typesetting and had overlooked correct method of entry. Cheers (S)
Kayakamina .. to stop bold or italic, you need to input
either or immediately after the words so required in that format, with no gap.
Revert to normal by inputting or other combination as desired

L
Thanks S & L I'm such a klutz!
Caught out there it didn't print ... K you have to add a forward slash immediately before the b or i .. otherwise same format as starting the entry ... does this make sense ?
Oh Sarumite! Are you getting into the same sort of muddle as me? Irritating, isn't it?
Yes kettledrum, I have ... that will teach me to interfere :o)
