Puzzle Monthly Issue 5

Can anyone help me in solving the Place Your Alphabets puzzle please? The problem is that there are 4 spaces requiring answers of 5 letters, and only 3 clues (J, S, AND Y)

Or do I put unsolvable on the answer sheet yet again, and refuse to renew my subscription next year? I had hoped that a new editor might have got rid of the mistakes, but this doesn't seem to be the case!

I can't make it out either ..do you also have Jenny ,Yemen and Sinew ? I have rubbed it out so much I have a hole in the page .I am stuck on a couple namely ..O. R U but I usually manage to get them by filling in the others.
Anyhow I have come up with Swims by fiddling the words around . I had a win this month and had hoped a new editor would have sorted things out ...I shall persevere ..perhaps it had already gone to the printers before they were in the hot seat..

I've got spine for the s clue (pin for bone fastener, as my son had his arm pinned when he broke it) together with SE round the outside for Home Counties.The other two are Jenny & Yemen.
For U I've got upholds.Fits in across with spine.
However this doesn't solve the original problem of 4 words for 3 clues, so I hope they will make that puzzle null & void. Either that or award you the prize for sheer tenacity if you manage to sort it out!

Thanks for that Poodledo....Now I have a couple more I will have another go ..but you are right .. ..one of the clues will have to be ditched ....but which one? Grrr! If I do manage to solve it I will get back to you ....but don't hold your breath !

Hello again
I have managed to fill the whole grid in now and come up with Swims from ..top to bottom ...Down ,Spine.Across ,DarWinism..Down ..Gall I vant. Across Madeira and Down NemesiS..
The odd clue is Quart .They gave it as six letters for a five letter answer .Spine Jenny and Yemen all fit the grid .hope this helps you...Good luck
