I have no idea where else to put this.

How big would a 35 acre square be in the US?

I mean, eg. 1 mile by one mile?

I know someone who's bought 35 acres and I can't figure out how big that is.

An English acre is 4840 sq. yds, so roughly 70 x 70, and 35 acres is roughly 6 x 6, so the 35 acres would be about 420 yards square.
there are 640 acres to the square mile.35 acre square would be approx 6 acres each way.an acre is 4840 sq. yards. a square acre is 69.57 yards each way. Therefore your 35 acre square is about 6 times 69.57 yards each way. This amounts to a square of about 417.42 yards per side.
