Is anyone else annoyed when you record something on a Freeview Hard-drive, and the programme runs late either due to starting late or (in the case of sport) the programme over-running because of analysis or whatever? I was under the impression - wrongly so it appears - that Digital TV was supposed to eliminate these problems as the boxes were supposed to know when programmes ended. Is there no way of overcoming this other than to record the programme after the one you want to watch, which in some cases may not be possible? Thanks.
I can do this on my hard drive recorder that has built in freeview and I understand your frustration.
I sometimes set the recording options manually like in the good old days when you set a few minutes at the beginning and end, not sure if you can do it on yours.
I don't know the make and model of your freeview box, but does it have videoplus built in, preferably with PDC? If so, then find the relevant videoplus code for your programme, (radio times online is a good place to get the codes from), program in the code, switch PDC on, then it should start and stop the programme at the actual running time, rather than the advertised time. For example, if the programme starts and finishes 20 minutes late, then so will the recording. Hope this helps.
