Got mine yesterday through the post. Spoke to my sister last night and she said she'd done half of it already, but then she is the brains of the family.
Had a quick peep while I was having my "wake up" coffee and have solved the first six lines already and got the first bird.
I hope it gets a bit harder later on. The early puzzles of years ago were stinkers & sneaky, but I suppose it's not easy to keep up the standard year after year.
It's not as bad as I first thought and is much easier than in previous years. Only a few to do now and will finish it tomorrow.
I don't think there's any need for people to ask for answers, it's just being lazy if they do. Very few people asked last year but maybe it wasn't all that well known.
I dont think they should need to ask either
It isnt really that sort of quiz is it, well not in my opinion
I admit the first time I did it I didnt understand what you were supposed to do at all at the start but once you grasp that and the theme thats it really
having said that could you tell me... 1 2 3 4 5 6 7..
only joking couldt resist it
Once you work out the birds and which position the b's go it's straight forward. Anyone with the Chambers Dictionary and using the Chambers website will complete it.
If I win a prize I give it back to the charities........just want to see my name on the leaderboard above that of my sister!!
First time I've seen this quiz, have got most of the answers from the clues but just need to know how to find the birds? Do I take the initial letters and make an anagram of them? or do I take the three letters from one and four letters from another to make up a name? do I use the letters already provided? not sure what I'm supposed to do
Any help please
Success...........got every word except for one. Also managed to find all the birds which was a big help.
I've got some my sister does not have so I'll give her a call and barter. A bit disappointed at how easy it was, spent weeks on it in previous years. Nowhere as many obscure words this year.
Show off - lol
Have all the starting letters but not quite all the words yet
No I agree it was easier than last year - well I hope it is and I soon find my missing ones - moved on to the towns and rivers quiz now
Also moving on to a pile of other quizzes now. The trouble with being retired is that Mrs. brokenbank thinks I have loads of time to kill, even when I've done the washing, ironing, dusting, polishing, cooking etc. lol.
