This is the first week in a new year, in a new month, and in the reign of Queen Pauline. She has been so determined to win this crown that for several weeks she has been Practicing Posting at Intermettent Intervals some Interesting Information on Quizzical Questions. She now has an something else to occupy her mind - making up the links each week and transmitting them through her psychic powers to whoever has the ability to receive them.

You will have noticed that tonight's shrubbery has been opened once again by myself, gen2, as it will be for the rest of this month. Crofter has family commitments that will keep him away for the next few weeks and I have promised him that I will keep you all in control and add up the scores as they come in. Visitors to the shrubbery are warned that dabbling in the psychic realm can potentially damage your health so take care. Also, anyone borrowing the Campbell-Stokes sunshine recorder is asked to return it before sunrise.

As usual, the bonus points will be there for the taking as you pour out of the shrubbery at 9:00 am tomorrow and remember that the thread will be opened by Psychic Pauline at about 8.45 in the morning. The MM Link Game should then be officially launched by Queen Pauline when she posts her four words to be linked at 9.00am. Then it is up to yourselves.

The international version of this same game is called KM Links and kicks off at the unearthly hour of about 06.30am! Look out for seekeerz from Oz who provides the entertainment, refreshments and rule of law when dealing with that parallel game. In this case, the choice of words and their links are out of our control. They are the grey words chosen by Kate Mepham in her Crosswords in the Daily Telegraph on Saturday and Monday!

Happy New Year Linkers - and Have Fun.

Did I???...I must have had a few cos I don't remember!!
Oh ... I suppose you're going to change them now!!
ooh S would you like to let us all in on the secret??/
I'm easily bribed Jan ... a couple of single malts and a real ale would probably do it ....

The links are ... Pink Elephant : Yellow Submarine : Blue Murder : and Red Baron.

There you are ... now pass the drinks!!
Now I definitely don't remember!!

Cor ........I really must have had a few!!
Jools you're a star .... thanks, (and I've posted Pauline's links above for you!) (S)
Now my loyal subjects...who let Sarumite out of the dungeon??
Oh S I gave her a lot of money for those answers and she said she wouldn't give them to anyone else!!!!!!
Just been involved in a little disagreement on another thread and did something I've never done before. The person in question told another AB member to F*** off, but used the letter in the wrong order. Any guesses as to what I did!!!!
I don't think there is any need for that kind of language, what's happening to AB ??
Never trust a woman Evsajo ... Pauline gave them to me for nothing !!!
I saw the other thread and your comments Kay, and I think you responded brilliantly!
Kay I went and read it..well done you!!!...and dignified!
I hate how this site seems to becoming sometimes!
But as I have started something already tonight so I will keep out of it...but you were spot on!
...except for the links!!

I think you and Sarumite are conspiring to confuse me!!
and that was the fiftieth post!!!
keep em coming!!!
Off out to eat now - I'll be back online tomorrow morning for the links. Night all, behave won't you.
I love anagrams and what it makes out of peoples names.
The person who was being vaguely unpleasant earlier about the frippery, witty repartee and gay badinage that occurs in the shrubbery, that name anagrams as:
"ate a hen"
which possibly explains that person "spitting feathers" - though why or whatever for escapes me. May be they have Puritan antecedents or a touch of the Gordon Browns.

It's all a bit like someone going into a restaurant and complaining that people are eating and drinking.

Have fun my shrubbers, don't drink too much and no doubt in the morrow you will get all the KM links that I never seem to guess - and if I do it is too late!!

Strix
Well, here's one Pauline. Just a brief hello, and will probably look in a bit later. I haven't read all the previous comments, but, at the risk of being pedantic, hasn't submarine got 9 letters? In any case I'm sure you told me 'peril'. But then again that's not very PC is it?.
Very good strix!!...and Christiania...okay so it's not submarine!!
But you will still have to go to hidden depths!!
Hi everyone, I managed to get on here and read all the 'goings on'! Hope you'r all behaving yourselves in the Shrubbery tonight, its a bit late to join you as I am 1 hour ahead so its a little late and my bed is calling!
Hope I can get the link words tomorrow Pauline, good luck!

Hidden depths? Oh heck, the shrubbery is bad enough without having to go deep sea diving as well. Is that where the bus went? I knew we shouldn't have driven so near the cliff edge.
It's lovely to 'see you' Laney, and so pleased to hear of the progress being made ... but afraid I will also have to leave soon as my car is in Garage for repairs until Monday, so I will have to WALK to newsagents early tomorrow in readiness for K M links !! (S)
Hello all, Happy New Year.
I do hope this is going to be a fun place to be, unlike some of the other links tonight.
