I can't understand 49 down - I thought Italy's second longest river was the Tiber - but it does not fit. Is there another name? I have -d-g- Help, please - much appreciated

If you know the answers it is easy - doesn't always work out like that! Some days you seem to be in tune with the compiler's way of thinking, other days you can't work which direction they are coming from! Swings and roundabouts. Hubris nemesis.

Aquagility, thank you very much - n not h - can't read my own writing - I can see it now - not usually got as far with both crosswords at this time on a Saturday,but had lunch guests who were quite happy to sit over the table helping to fill them in - they've gone and I am lost for my evening pastime - will have to revert to the quick crossword (and can't always do that!) Well, you see Sarumite, this was me thinking I was being clever - I thought you meant 'look to the first clue - drunk as a lord - meaning if I had no crossword to do this evening I could have a drink! I don't know why I think I can read people's minds, I can't. Thanks for your earlier help, anyway. I think I'll take up knitting.
