I've just had an e-mail from Julie who organises the quizzes for the Cinnamon Trust to say that my envelope addressed to her had arrived torn and re-sealed by the post office but minus the 1 coin and the sae. Who are these people who are so desperate that they must steal 1 coins from charities? Are they post office employees? Are their wages so low that they must stoop to these measures? It's absolutely despicable whoever it is. Well I guess it's cheques only from now on and I also suggest that charities do not have the word 'quiz' in their address for people applying for the quizzes. Anyway it won't put me off doing the quizzes and supporting these worthwhile causes.
You are not alone my 1. also went missing when I applied for the last Cinnamon Trust quiz. I have learnt my lesson and am not enclosing cash anymore. Really sad isn't it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, fletcher5, I know you shouldn't send money by post but I've always thought that would apply to larger amounts like notes - how naive can you get! Well, as I said, I've certainly learnt my lesson now.
Yes, very sad Janbuck. It just goes to show what a sad society we live in. I have brought this subject up several times now so you probably know how I feel about Royal Mail Rogues. I even went down the complaints road but as far as RM were concerned ' ... no theft had occured ...'
I wonder who stole the money then.
I know some send money because they think that the charities have to pay to cash the cheques. I checked with Cransley and they have free banking so it would be worth a quiz setter checking with the good cause and telling everyone when they post that the good cause has free banking. This might only apply to reg charities ... I'm not sure.
I also stopped putting Quiz Request on my envelope ...
The best method of theft seems to be when 'they' cut a hole around the coin so it drops out. It's very difficult to see what has happened until you look for it !
I am now keeping every tampered envelope and when I get loads I will take it further ... again
It will not get very far but it might make me feel a bit better knowing that RM know what's going on ... Rant over !

Just wondered whether a coin fits through the 5mm grid and should have gone at the large rate?
My friend posted cake from her son's wedding and it 'arrived' eaten.
I, also, do not trust RM. Never send cash as you have advised fletcher.5 but have had a cheque stolen from Christmas card sent to daughter and the card resealed with sellotape and sent on! Complained to RM but they kept referring to the "alleged" theft and would not admit to it. Do they think the cheque leapt out on its own and resealed the envelope! I would like to know why the thief bothered to send it on at all then it would just have looked as if it had been lost in the post.
