9d Cardinal not very experienced (4) S?EN

Is it SIEN - a variation of Scion ? If so where does the cardinal part come in ?

Seen......cardinal = seven...not V(ery)
seven is a cardinal number with no "v"

Thank you - I used my searchable Chambers CD-Rom to search for definitions including the word cardinal - which flagged up cardinal numbers amongst other words - but I just didn't twig !
