MM and KM Links March 2008 [Week 5]

Good Evening AB Linkers, everywhere!

Welcome to this fifth and final week in the reign of Lady Alex, who is about to set the seal on a most entertaining month of MM Links. After her initial panic of winning at her first attempt, she reports that she has thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being in the driving seat. Whoever takes the title for March, remember that there is as much (or as little) support as is needed for the new champion to meet the task of setting the April Links. You will not be simply "thrown to the lions"!

Talking of the lions, how is the Shrubbery Squad tonight? Well, I hope, and in good spirit ~ or should it be the other way round? The "good spirit" will soon be inside the Shrubbery Squad!

This will also be the last week for the sister game KM Links, where entrants try to outwit Kate Mepham of DT fame by predicting the Monday Links to Saturday's four chosen words.

If you wish to chance your arm at both games, look out for the starting times tomorrow on AnswerBank. That's about 06.30am for KM Links and exactly 09.00am for MM Links. Newcomers are always welcome. Usually over 50 ABers take part in the games, and no-one takes it seriously! [If you believe that you'll believe anything]

I have half a bottle of chardonay left so not much of a swap stix
am still toying with the generalist crossword, (which does not mix with chardonay) but hey this is Friday night

right the message is that Pauline is not 100% (no comments please) so we are all going to sit by her bed with grapes (wot no wine?) and soothing drinks (ha I knew the wine was about somwhere)

Only just downloaded the Generalist. It is, as at other times, all over the shop in the mix of semi-cryptic (11ac) and pure GK (12ac).

Oh well, back to the bottle, but glad to know, jan, that you're around to keep me company until more turn up to make it some kind of Friday night party in the Shrubbery.

Hi Jan and Strix, quiet on here tonight, still I suppose it is a bit early. I haven't started the Generalist yet I need quiet time for that. Hope Pauline will manage to join us or as you say it's heading up the motorway . I can't post links on this laptop haven' mastered it yet (its an Apple and different to the usual windows)

not at work till 2pm tomorrow Laney, which give me plenty of time to do the crossword and links unfortunately it means I am at work till 6pm
Me and steve are like ships in the night this week as I have has 2 earlys and he is 2-10 and tomorrow he is 6-12 and I am afternoons, still at least we cannot argue!

Evening, Pauline and others. I'm not staying - just popped in to wish Pauline a swift recovery - but would love to see her treading grapes horizontally. Oh, goodness, think of the mess - the bedclothes, well, I suppose the long-suffering Reg would wash and iron those - after Pauline had sucked up all the grape juice.

Sweet dreams, Pauline - and the rest of you behave until Sarumite gets in to take control!!
