Not the only one Crofter , just spent 10 minutes getting on to AB
Question Author
Once again, this fourth and final week in the reign of Lady Judy went like clockwork. Based on the theme Archery , I can now reveal her chosen links were:

RAIN Bow (An echo of Judy Garland?)
String VEST
Arrow ROOT
Feather WEIGHT

Yet another mixed bag! However, this week all four links were spotted by the time the clock read 09.03am. Entrants had eventually managed to find the measure of the setter! It was another bumper scoring week for many (but by no means all). One AB-Linker reached double figures from their four component scores. A worthy winner!

crofter, not just AB, the whole web has gone slo-mo
that's strange - I've had no problems with AB or the web
Crofter. I haven't been on today but just signed on for the answers and had no problem whatsoever. If you want to forward your comments to me via email I will copy and past them to AB.
It may be geographic - don't ask me why or how, but twenty minutes ago all sites were, for me, slow to load (I am on broadband) now it is only one or two that are slow to "refresh". AND I am not on a Windows machine.

Scoring was brisk from the very beginning with STRING VEST claimed by forward, burgess, sarumite, miss meg, centrino & lysander in a steady stream within the two-minute window to score bonus points. In fact, there were even more STRING VESTS than that, since both beejay1124 & Dinkypuzzled were in time AND also carried ARROW ROOT to score FOUR POINTS to add to their running totals. Around this time jan1956 also scored Two Points for her Arrow Root! Well done to you all!

But there was more to come since FEATHER WEIGHT fell to Strix at 09.02am and RAIN BOW was picked up by Christiana at 09.03am to complete the quartet of link words. To my surprise and delight, ulysses100 yet again claimed a double whammy with Rainbow AND Featherweight to bring home FOUR POINTS! Our thoughts are with ulysses100 at this time and completion of routine tasks is a good way to try to get back to normality (whatever that is).

JIMjools was the last entrant to benefit from bonus points before the clock struck 09.06am, when Eiggam had a double hit but was out of time by one minute! In fact, greengoddess was the only other double hitter in a long stream of singles. Over the full round there were three entrants to score Four Points and in two cases these brought their totals to a handsome Eight Points. However, in the final case the person was already on Six Points and so rocketed up to Ten Points!

The League Table after this final week in May is:

TEN POINTS: Dinkypuzzled
EIGHT POINTS: beejay1124, Christiana, jan1956, miss meg, Strix & ulysses100
SIX POINTS: Aquagility & JIMjools
FIVE POINTS: kettledrum, lysander & sarumite

Therefore it is with great pleasure that I nominate Dinkypuzzled as the MM Links Champion for May 2008 and they have the honour of setting the Links throughout the month of June!
*** Let trumpets sound a fanfare ***
*** Let the people give three cheers ***
*** Let there be rejoicing across Linkland ***

There will be much to prepare for next weeks game and anyone who can speed up the process of putting me in contact with the new champion will be appreciated!

Let us not forget the fantastic games that have been provided by Lady Judy throughout these last four weeks. Many Thanks Judy!

This is crofter signing off for another week.
See you next week: Same time - Same place - New Champion!

Until then: HAPPY LINKING!

:o)
Glad your were able to post the winner and runners-up, Crofter.
Congratulations to Dinkeypuzzled and to all those who managed to nearly grab the brass ring.
I'm afraid that the Ont-ices will forever remain at the bottom of the league, but not for the want of trying.
Thanks Lady Judy for your challenging links and to Crofter, as always, many thanks for your support. Please let us know when your abacus needs replaced. I'm sure we can buy you a new one with the boobie-prize money.
Thank you Lady Judy for an interesting month. Congratulations to Dinkypuzzled for beating us to the winning line. Will I ever be first to the post ? But at least I am in some fair company. Well done everybody. And thanks again to crofter for all his sterling work. Until next month then --- and let battle commence again. Thank you for all of your condolences --- and, yes, I will try to keep busy and occupied.

Ont-ice Check your e-mails !
Don't we have another week to go??? Next Sat is still May???
Congratulations Dinkypuzzled, and thanks to Lady Judy for an entertaining four weeks and to Crofter, as always, for the scoring and running of the game.
I, too, have found difficulty in getting on the site, and especially in moving about on it. Couldn't get on 'my profile' at all.

JimJools Re 4 or 5 weeks ~ we are on the cusp with Saturday in May and Sunday in June. For reasons to do with availability, we'll have the 5-week month in June rather than May.

Well done Dinkypuzzled, we look forward to being puzzled by your link words.

I look forward to being confounded and, maybe, delighted by your choice of link words.

One question, please reassure me you do not come from, or live in, Northumbria or Fife!!

However, in the meantime, my thoughts and prayers are with ulysses100.
Dinkypuzzled here. I'm delighted to have come out on top at last. Thanks Lady Judy for setting the link words for May.
I see from Crofter's posting that I have the privilege for the next FIVE weeks. I'll try to be challenging - but not too obscure.
Now, Crofter, how do I get in touch ?
DP.
No Strix, I'm a Doonhamer - just back from Hampden.
Well done dinkypuzzled.

thanks to Lady Judy and crofter.

I hope I will be bothering your abacus a bit more next month, certainly didn't this one.
Ok crofter - I just thought I was going mad :-)))

Well done Dinkypuzzled and thank you to Judy and to you crofter.

Jools
