Tomorrow morning brings the start of Round 2 in the Reign of King Wickedtongue the Generous during which I believe the points will flow [as last week] in ample numbers. Once again, the (Para)Olympics are well underway and I am filled with admiration for the competitors. Their endeavours have inspired me to embark on my next DIY project and decorate the third bedroom in the Croft. This will be my first return to DIY in over three years ~ so wish me well!

With the excessive amount of rain and mud about, I wonder if there will ever be an Olympic Sport of Extreme Shrubbery Mud Wrestling. Tonight will be cold and wet around the Buddleias, but I have every faith that the Shrubbery Squad will brave the elements and contend for the bonus points for being first (or within two minutes) to predict a correct link word. This contest should be opened at 08.45 and the chosen words to be linked declared at 09.00 tomorrow morning. I honestly think that the extra effort will be worth it!

For the REALLY early birds, look out for seekeerz who hails from Down Under in the Land of Oz and volunteered about two years ago to score the sister game (called KM Links) which will be nearly two hours old by the MM launch time! Yes, that's right ~ the KM Links Game kicks off about 07.00am and attracts its special set of nutters, alcoholics and insomniacs in equal numbers!

Me? I'm crofter keeper of the scores for MM Links for my sins.

With a couple of entrants already on 6 points, you cannot afford to miss the start of Link Game. Newcomers are always welcome. You don't have to be insane ~ but it is a definite advantage!

Good luck for tomorrow.

Kay...there is a board available elsewhere!!!
Pauline, as you have "raised" Dave Allen I cannot resist posting this (most of the other YouTube links are quite long) but it gives a flavour of the great man:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=poMsoJhElpk&fea ture=related
I know but I just don't seem able to use it.
Changing the subject, I don't think I can cope with these varifocals, they are driving me mad!!! If I wear them when I am walking keep feeling I am falling over, but they don't seem brilliant for reading either. this keyboard is moving as I type this!!!!!!
I have also got an awful cough after my chest infection but daren't put my remedy on here!!!! There is no way I could word it without sounding rude.........It's to do with the sea!!!
We met the late dear Dave Allen years ago at Gatwick and again on the return from Alicante. He jumped out of his taxi, grabbed his cases and rushed into the airport. His kids chased after him as he hadn't paid the fare!! Surprisingly he sat on the no smoking side of the plane (Iberia used to have one side no smoking and the other you could smoke - very Spanish) and he didn't take a drink either!!! He was very friendly and talked to anyone who approached him.
Sadly missed
Well, Kay, that's what happens when you go to sea but you could always ask your fellow sailor, the vicar, to apply the embrocation.....
Kay,
With my varifocals the keyboard only seems to float around when looking at it through a glass of whiskey, did you hit the gin too hard?
Yes twix... a really great Comedian...and man!

Strix...had me laughing again!!...only don't tell my priest!! He actually thinks I am a good person!!!

Kay!!!....I am not even guessing!!! :-))
Kay... vicar...boat....varifocals....whiskey...dave allen....what a picture!!!
Fisherman's friend!!
Well, it's my bed-time again. Just have my cup of horlicks.
See you all in the morning for the Links games.
Good night everyone
Pauline,
"Kay... vicar...boat....varifocals....whiskey...dave allen....what a picture!!! "
Sling in a scenario of Kay on a narrow boat and needing a chest rub (oops - embrocation) for the cough and there has to be at least the basis for a TV sketch and if not that an anecdote for here!
Pauline you just get worse!!!!!
If it's wet tomorrow I am going to Gloucester Docks with Steve, as it's his birthday. Apparently there are lots of antique shops etc and it's very nice, but if it's not raining it's the Carboots!!!
Won't be staying up as late as usual as i am very tired through lack of sleep from coughing.
Goodnight to all the bed -goers!!

Strix...just Kay and the vicar is enough!!!...
Night to one and all,
the owl twitters off.....
for now
Strix
Goodnight Strix...we always said you were a HOOT!!

Kay...I was a nice girl until I met you!

By the way...where is Sarumite???....I will have words!!!
Goodnight all you early birds ... the night is still young here with at least another 3 hours to go before bedtime, which leaves enough time for a few more snifters of my favourite

http://www.classicwhiskey.com/distilleries/bus hmills.htm
twix...one of Reg's (my other half's) favourites!
He said you have good taste!
Pauline,
I hope that Reg drinks it the correct way, straight with a beer chaser!
He said...as you speak!....and has disappeared into the kitchen!!! :-))
Well I still do not have a clue for the links....and no hope I think!! :-((
