x-1 divided by 3 = x+1 divided by 4?? If you know can yu explain how to work it out? Thanks

x=7
(7-1)/3=(7+1)/4=2
(x-1)/3 = (x+1)/4
Now multiply bothsides of the equation by 12 to get:
4(x-1)= 3(x+1)
4x-4 = 3x+3
x-4 = 3
x=7
