drums as an altar

This is not for a quiz or puzzle - just for my personal dustbin of irrelevancies. Having watched the Festival of Remembrance on TV last night and seen a reconstruction of the following, I am sure there is a word for the altar.( if not an altar. then somewhere where the chaplain placed the bible) built out of drums (percussion) on a battlefield. Does anyone know what that word is. Tried Googling it, but cannot come up with the word. I am sure I have heard the word in the past and forgotten it. Will remember it next time!

Thanks to both of you. It does help actually. I also seem to remember a Gaelic name perhaps even for the drums so will keep researching it. Answerbank is such a brilliant concept. I love it.
