Local Quiz
23 Answers
I'm stuck on the final 5 questions and would be grateful for any help.
1. Name the stick used to rest the brush when painting.
2. Which British Prime Minister said, 'I owe everything to my mother'?
3. Name the TV series also known as a breakfast favourite.
4. When were one way streets first introduced in London?
5. In 1997 The Simpsons became the longest running cartoon series but who did they replace?
Many thanks.

No best answer has yet been selected by Bluebell. Once a best answer has been selected, it will be shown here.
For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Bluebell - it's hardly a "local quiz" is it? Shame you can't actually give the name of the quiz (too embarrassed?) Even more incredible is the fact that there are still over 5 months to go to the closing date - so why in the world do you need to ask for help so early (and ruin it for everyone else)?
Many thanks to all those who helped. It was very kind. boysinblue, this quiz was emailed to me with the given title Local Quiz. I presume as the person who emailed it lives in Plymouth, it must be local to that area. The email was sent to her. from someone in Exeter so it could have been local to that city. I therefore don't see why you suggest I'm 'Embarrassed.' There is no closing date mentioned on the questions on the email I was sent., the questions were typed out. It was sent to me out of kindness to give me something to do as I am recovering from a broken leg sustained in an accident last week. I have enjoyed answering the other 95 questions on the list, and as I do not know where I would even send the answers or when the completion date is, I am in no position to submit them. I apologise to anyone who may feel I have ruined this quiz for them. It was certainly not intentional. I just regarded doing this Local Quiz as a bit of fun whilst not being very mobile at the moment.
This is a General Knowledge quiz from the Lincolnshire Ileostomy Association. I sent off my 1 as I saw it advertised in the IA newsletter. The question setter, Mrs Chapman of Lincoln, who is the treasurer of the Lincs IA rang me to say the newsletter should have said that the quiz was not available until xmas and that she would send it to me then. However the next day I saw it on sitesaver so downloaded it from there.
Bluebell, you have not ruined it for me. I have finished it and welcome seeing what answers other people have so I can change them if necessary. The download does not have a name other than General Knowledge Quiz; it is surprising that it has got on to sitesaver when the official forms have not even been sent out; that would explain why there are no details about payment and closing date etc; I can give you details about where to send off for it if you decide you want to participate. Hope you will soon be on the mend.

I too have seen these questions, under the title Local Quiz in a hairdressing salon, and I am nowhere near the West Country or Lincolnshire. For many people, answering quiz questions like this is a wonderful way of socialising, there's nothing vindictive meant, as there is no address supplied to send answers to. The list of questions I saw was just that, a list of questions. Those who answered Bluebell's queries did so courteously. Why did boysinblue 68 feel he had to be so sarcastic? His comments were quite unecessarry. I thought flopsymopsy's posting was extremely generous. Flopsymopsy has completed the quiz, and did not feel the need to make unpleasant comments. Quite the opposite infact, they were extremely helpful, kind and compassionate, three words which sadly, could not be directed at boysinblue 68 on this occasion. For what it's worth Bluebell, may I suggest that question 5 might be Tom & Jerry. I hope you will make a steady recovery. Take care.
Hi Lucienne; I understood that Mrs Chapman's quiz was to be all her own work, but it would seem that is not the case if it is available all over the country under different guises. It was posted on sitesaver as in aid of the Lincs Ileostomy Association. Do the boys in blue not yet realise that they do not have to open the question to look at the answers given if they dont want to know what they are. It is only the questions that appear on the front page, not the answers. In fact I asked a question about this quiz a couple of weeks ago, it was for my last two and I would never have found them without help. Nobody complained then. Perhaps there is a different closing date all over the country too. I shall have to start googling again for q. 5 as there are quite a few different answers being suggested. I call that a help, not a spoiler. Have a nice day.
As I have said many times before, the user name has nothing to do with the police - it is purely related to football (and the number is also a significant part of the user name).
All I am asking is that people do not ruin quizzes for others by asking for answers too early (preferably not at all, but I know that's wishful thinking). I cannot understand anyone who asks for answers to a quiz and then enters under their own name - where is the pride in that?
flopsymopsy - many congratulations for completing the quiz - why don't you give others a chance to do the same?

Dont get at me boyo. How very dare you suggest I am not giving others a chance to complete the quiz? Bluebell asked for 5 answers to complete the quiz, and other people gave them to her. I just added I had a different answer to one of them. If Bluebell and I have completed it no doubt lots of other people have too. So there!
flopsymopsy - manners cost nothing (try my name please not boyo). You still supplied an answer, whether it had previously been answered or not. You and Bluebell (and many others) may have completed the quiz, but there may be many others who are still doing it, don't you think? Why not be fair to them as well?
As for the "you don't have to look comment" - how many times have people been down this route? That is not the point (as I'm sure you very well know). The interest for many people is to help charities as much as possible, but at the same time try to answer the questions themselves which includes using Google, etc. It's just gets very frustrating when one of the first answers always pops up as the Answerbank. There are so many lazy people out there who cannot be bothered to look for an answer themselves. Where is the satisfaction is using an answer given to you by someone else - how can anyone learn or improve by doing that?

Boysinblue68- oh lol, I repeat, if you dont like what you read in the puzzles and quizzes section, then stay out of it. You are spoiling it for me already and I havent been a member for very long. It is because of you and your nasty comments that I wont be bothering with this site any more. I realise I have wasted my money on stamps etc but have thrown out all my current quizzes, I really cant be bothered with them or you. Life is too precious and too short to be squabbling about such things. Hope you have a good day and a clear conscience!
