Does anyone feel like I do ?You spend ages on a charity quiz and get the hopefully the right answers to the difficult questions. Then find someone has posted the all the questions in a list on answerbank. To add insult to injury they then reply "Thanks very much I would never have worked that out ." .Fill in their answer form and send it off !
I did at first but now accept the fact that I got the answer myself and that's my satisfaction so am now happy to share as long as I dont feel it's asked too soon or asked by people who never give any back in return
Instead of listing pages and pages of answers they can't solve, why don't they throw the quiz in the bin?
Surely the lure of a 10 prize can't be that much.
When used "properly" the AB is great but unfortunately the lazy benefit from other people's good nature.
Actually Smouse the idea of helping people who help you is good, exchanging answers or giving clues. On some sites such as "Moneysavings Expert"the posts come straight back to you and aren't for general viewing. The recent Lions Quiz about names on the map, there were so many people asking for great chunks of answers,it could have been done without working out anything yourself.
If you keep an eye on this site you will see that as the closing date gets nearer there arent many of the good quizzes were the answers arent then given - I am sure that in the last week or so more than half of the terrible twos has now been on here
I stick at the good ones when they come and feel good if I can finish them on my own and then share as I feel fit
If anyone is stuck I don't mind helping them but several posts have been on this week for a quiz that doesn't finish until July. Not a lot of thought has been done there. I can't blame the answerers because the poster didn't put the quiz name or closing date.
I came to the conclusion some while back simply to apply my own rules as to what I will or will not give out and not to get in too much of a tizz about others doing it their way. Having said that, part of my own rules is not to give out to charity quizzes too soon, never to give answers to long lists of questions, whether charity quizzes or not, and for charity quizzes and other contests that really require hard work to get the answer, to give clues/hints rather than answers.
Every single quiz that I ever entered has been cheated on. It just means more correct entries - less chance of being drawn out first.
If tiebreaker questions were a sentence to complete in an apt and original way I'd have more chance of winning.
Many non charity quizzes receive LESS entries these days and Quizmail stopped giving prize money at all.The Listener tried to stop the cheating but failed.
Hi squarebear, Have you been away? Are you well? Are you Beatrice 35 as she tells everyone to ignore me even when I gave a polite correct answer!I was waiting for abuse from you last week but it never came.
The only prize quiz I care about is GFQ as we are asked not to ask and it isn't a charity.

Well, Squarebear, that is the most ridiculous attitude I've ever come across! Why don't you just send your 1 to the charity and throw the quiz in the bin. Real quizzers want a challenge, want to beat the opposition, and want their answers to be their own. Nobody really cares who wins the 5, but every quiz has been spoilt by people putting questions and answers on this site.
Hi Tallulah, yes I have been away and no I am not Beatrice 35 (whoever that is).
Surely, the whole point of a charity quiz is to raise money for charity. If I was running one, I wouldn't care how people got the answers, as long as they paid their money.
My view is that it is not "cheating" if you ask for answers.
There is no ethical difference in asking for answers here from asking your friends or your work colleagues.
Unless there is a Rule attached to the quiz that says you must answer all of the questions yourself, without any outside help - like doing an examination - then any means of getting answers is perfectly valid.
I beg to differ on 2 things first the fact charities dont care so long as they get their money. Thats not exactly true yes we set a quiz to raise money but its disheartening to spend weeks compiling it and the answers go on here before people have hardly started buying it and it makes it very difficult to judge as you know someone could have struggled for weeks yet they lose out in favour of one out of a hat who has just sat and copied every answer in 5 minutes flat, and we lose money because once the answers start appearing on here less people actually buy it as its taken the fun out of it. Thats just another viewpoint not an argument. The other point is Moneysaving expert does publish lists of complete quizzes and single answers I was doing a very good quiz last month and by accident ended up on moneysaving expert and there someone had printed every single answer in a great long list. And no I didnt cheat as i'd finished mine I was just trying to check something on another quiz. I dont think people give out the answers for the prizes because it actually lessens their chance of winning the more that have all correct entries, I think it might be they enjoy the sport of answering quicker than anyone else and knowing they had the answer people were stuck on. Again just my viewpoint.
Yes, it's those who say "I'm really struggling with......" and have still three months to solve it, who make me cross. Why do those people send for quizzes??
Where is the fighting spirit that won wars for us? How lazy can some people be? Why do they want someone else to do it for them? No wonder the country is in the state it's in!
