You are traveling by foot and you have a goose, a fox and a bag of corn.  You come to a river that you have to cross.  There is a boat, but you can only take one item accross at a time.  How will you do this?  Remember, if you leave the fox with the goose, he will eat it, and if you leave the goose with the corn, he will eat the corn.

OK, here goes!

 

• Take the goose across
• Come back & pick up the fox
• Take the fox across & swap it for the goose
• Bring the goose back & swap it for the corn
• Take the corn across & leave it with the fox
• Come back & pick up the goose
• Take the goose across.

 

Am I right?  :o)

Sounds good to me Jackanory. There is an alternative. Tie the goose behind the boat (they can swim!), then take the other two in any order you like.

Somehow I think newtron will prefer your answer ;-)
