MM and KM Links August 2009 [Week 1]

Good Evening AB Linkers, everywhere!
Welcome to this first week in the reign of Pope Adrian (aka twix123), who will appear in person tomorrow! I was sorely tempted to link up his new title with something to do with (H)adrian's Wall ~ particularly in the month named after Augustus Caesar!
Making contact with our new setter proved trouble-free and I think that I am in for yet another easy month. Pope Adrian seems to be a worthy successor who has hidden depths. I hope he'll divulge some of these in due course ~ including the origins of his nom de plume twix123.

Sorry, I have been missing for a while. I have just had rather a traumatic time this last week or so. My lovley wife has had major open heart surgery in a London hospital from which I have again just returned.
Luckily she came through it all and hopefully she may be coming home tomorrow.
That is good news and bad news - she will be able to start nagging me again.
Hope I haven't put a damper on the proceedings in the shrubbery....hope you are all well

Now my computer problem. I have beenplaying scrabble on facebook and when I finished tried to come onto here but screen just went clear. Couldn't get anything to happen, couldn't even switch it off so did it manually. Started it up again and e mail page is ok but when I click on internet everything has gone haywire !!! All the things from across top have disappeared and just have google but at top of page. Lost "favourites" which are usually across top. Have somehow got list of favourites down side now but this page is enormous, as if I am looking through a magnifying glass. I just want everything back how it was !!! Can anyone help PLEASE

Now I've got it four times in the Word document! What the heck, i'll just have to type it, but it probably won't come out with the correct punctuation.
The Pope arrives at the airport. His driver is waiting to pick him up. He loads the luggage into the car, then notices that the Pope is still standing at the kerb.
The driver asks the Pope to take his seat. But the Pope replies that he would really like to drive, because they'll never let him do that at the Vatican.
The driver is worried that he may lose his job if he agrees.; but eventually he gets in to the back of the car and the Pope takes the wheel. He puts his foot down, and very soon they hear the sound of police sirens. They pull over, the policeman looks inside the car, goes back to his motorcycle and gets on the radio.
"I need to talk to the chief" he says.
"What's the problem?" asks his boss.
"This guy was doing over 100 mph."
"So arrest him!"
"I'm not sure about that" replies the policeman. "His passenger is really important."
"All the more reason", says the chief. Who have you got there - the mayor?"
"Bigger".
"Governor?"
"Bigger."
"President?"
"Bigger".
"Well", says the chief, who is it?"
"I think it's God" replies the policeman.
"Why do you think that?"
"Because he's got the Pope as a chauffeur!"
