Hello everyone! It’s just over two years since I last did this. I remember that I DID enjoy it eventually, so let’s hope the same thing happens again. I’ve added to my title since then, now being known as Queen Christiana, the Cheerful One, otherwise known as Her Cheeriness. Living in a sunny climate helps.

Five years ago I came to the Algarve, meaning to spend only part of the time here but a year later I somehow found I was part of the leadership of a small English speaking Christian fellowship. I’m still not sure how it happened! And today, all that I can think of is that this afternoon I am conducting a Wedding Blessing Ceremony. I was once a part-time Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages, so that might help. However, there are lots of differences, not least in being far less formal and having it take place in a lovely outside venue

Some of those earlier Register Office weddings were quite bizarre – there was the time the groom was brought to the Register Office by the police, other times when people couldn’t repeat the words they were supposed to say, some times people didn’t bother to dress up or have any sort of celebratory food, and finally brides who really gave no indication of wanting to get married at all. It was also strange that the grooms tended to cry more than the brides at the emotional bits (no comments please, Strix). Sometimes they had no witnesses and we had to drag passers-by in from off the streets!

No prizes for guessing the theme, but are there any clues in there to the links? Maybe, but then again, maybe not.

As usual, I shall follow the rules relating the word length as introduced by Crofter. Each of my chosen link words contains at least four letters and at most eight. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one or more of your attempts! Each of my selected words may go in front of or after my challenge word. The competition will officially close at 7.00pm on Sunday evening when my selected words will be declared, and points awarded in the usual manner. My first set of words to be linked should appear below at 9.00am.
theme is obviously going to be Grounds for Divorce!!!!
