MM Links October 2009 (Week 5)

Greetings once again from Queen Christiana, the (not quite so) Cheerful One. Where were the bountiful distribution of points to all and sundry last week? Where were the smiles from happy and successful linkers? I feel like a failed pupil with a report that reads: “C+ Must try harder”.

So in this, the final posting of my reign, I am skipping lightly over my various travels – to Cambridgeshire, Cornwall and eventually The Algarve as my job changed – from English Teacher to Special Needs Co-ordinator, to Relief Registrar of Births, Deaths and Marriages; how I found myself doing voluntary work hospital visiting and acting as Chaplain’s assistant, and how I ended up in the Algarve in leadership in a small Christian group and, at the beginning of this month, officiating at a Wedding Blessing.

Such questions will remain unanswered unless and until the unlikely event of my ever having a third term of office.

No, the only question that needs answering this week is “How can I regain my legendary cheerfulness” and the answer is “By ensuring a goodly flow of points to all my loyal subjects”. That is my only aim.

So look carefully for clues. There won’t be any more chances for you to get points this month or for me to regain my full measure of cheerfulness.

Now, turning to the links, don’t forget to follow the rules relating to word length as introduced by crofter. Each of my chosen link words contains at least four letters and at most eight. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one or more of your attempts! Each of my selected words may go in front of or after my challenge word. The competition will officially close at 7.00pm on Sunday evening when my selected words will be declared, and points awarded in the usual manner. Dodgy time of the year, Dusty, to visit the Shrubbery and quite apart from All Soul's day the fact that one of more of the Shrubbers is a combination of Typhoid Mary, a Plague Dog or a Fire Ship is warning enough to stay indoors!!
