Thank you MarkRae and Oldred, Spectate I can relate with, am assuming 29across is relating to Edward Lear?
That is how I took it - both Edward Lear and King Edward
Me too.

Such "double reference" answers (for want of a better term) are quite common in some crosswords, and I've seen the King-Edward-Lear one before.

Another common one is something like "Hardy's doubting companion (6)" where the answer is THOMAS as in doubting Thomas / Thomas Hardy...
