MM and KM Links August 2010 [Week 1]
25 Answers
It is now August and we should be at the height of Summer, yet the rain is falling as a drizzle ~ just as it did for the AGM held last weekend at the Croft! However no one attending the AGM let their spirits be dampened and the wine and ale flowed freely. Everyone was wetter on the inside that the outside ~ and the Time flew past all too swiftly. Since then, I have made contact with owllady, who will be known throughout her reign as “The Lady Ursula”.
Following the usual format, the channel of communication should open on AB tomorrow at 08.45am and the four words to be linked should be posted at 9.00am, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. I say “should” because The Lady Ursula is a relatively recent newcomer to AB and still developing her IT skills. However, she has proved a quick learner and I have every confidence in her MM launch tomorrow. Remember ~ early MM hits gain bonus points!

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.As usual, I ask that you should also look out for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at a very early hour (which is difficult to predict precisely). Consequently, the timing of your posting is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register. The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz ( Roo-land) and is my good friend, “seekeerz”. She is truly the “Wizard-ess of Oz”.
As I always say ~ “Why not chance your arm at both Link Games?” You have nothing to lose. Both games remain open for most of the weekend and all entries are scored and entered on to master scoreboards to trace progress through each monthly conteet.
This being the first Friday in the month, it is Quiz Night at the local Cricket Club, so I shall be away for most of the evening. Until I see you tomorrow, may I wish you ~ “Happy Linking”!

Good evening, Crofter et al, and welcome to my 84th birthday month, Lady Ursula.
I've not been on at all this week, having been away in Oxfordshire staying with elder son. The unaccustomed condition of being told what to do all the time, with the best will in the world, does not exactly suit!
I shall hope to be on line in the morning - if I can get the laptop going - and should be home and returning to sanity by Sunday evening.
I hope you don't all get too wet this evening. Inside or out.

no Laney we used to use my father in laws caravan and late rwe bought a trailer tent but it was never silly prices like that,
Daughter in law struggled to find anywhere one site said they had a place for tonight but they would have to move to somwhere else on the site for tomorrow night, as they have an awning it was out of the question, at least at Haven they have passes for the entertainment

Evening all! Aq, would I be jumping to conclusions that you would have been staying with elder son FOR the birthday? If not ~ many happies!!
Hi Jan. Weather has not been too bad in Mabo today though the flies are pretty bad and the swallows are working hard. We also have some pretty obnoxious farm smells around!! Why are your family using Haven? They should take the opportunity of familiarising themselves with some of the smaller sites and getting their phone numbers. There's a well-run one near us where Church Lane meets Seaholme Road.

Hello and how do you do to old friends.
Just wondered if any of you might be interested in having a look at my blog, did post a link last week, but not sure how many saw it.
It comprises some poetry , a few short pieces of writing and some whimsical bits and pieces. Some hopefully funny and some hopefully serious.
If any of you liked it enough to subscribe / follow that would be bloomin' marvellous !

My birthday this month too, Aqua. Did you read in the press the other day that children born in the summer are usually quite a way behind their fellows in developing (skills, that is, not physically!). Supposedly because they start school aged 5 in the September, at a younger age than those born in the winter months. I've heard that tale before, and I don't know where the figures come from; it certainly didn't apply to any of my July- and August-born friends.
