Dobry wszystkim rano!
[Only joking – Polish is not a language with which I am at all familiar]
Thank you for taking part in last week's links, but maybe they were a little too straightforward for you, so I'll try and make this week's challenge more interesting.
The scene for me moved from France to Dublin, where I found myself at University. How, I'm not entirely sure, since the Irish Entry System then (as now) did not rely on interviews, teachers’ references or personal statements, and I had applied for a science-based degree without any relevant Leaving Certificate Sciences among the eight subjects that I had taken. Perhaps, they put all the applications in a bag and played lucky dip? I prefer to think they used the time-honoured method of examining the entrails of a goat!
Good Morning All from a very foggy Ontario. No flight departures or landings today so far.
Herewith our attempts for this week:
Mr. O.
Fair Play
City Dweller
Broad Outlook
Narrow Bridge
Mrs. O.
Fair Share
Inner City
Broad Minded
Narrow Scrutiny
Late today as I am down in Leicestershire helping to look after my 101 yr old Mother who is, according to the doctors 'at the end of her life' But she has had a very good life so one can't be sad.
I will try:-
fair GROUND
city LIMIT
broad SHEET
narrow BOAT
Like CliffyG, I am on the late shift, but I wrote down my selections before looking at all the other offers. Too late to find anything original, so I will stick with
Fair Game
City Slicker
Broad Cast
Narrow Minded
Not taking part in the quiz, but am I right in thinking that Dubliners have a fondness for rhyming descriptions? I'm sure I've heard of Molly Malone being referred to as, 'The tart with the cart'. There are others, but for the life of me I cannot recall a single one.
Hi Mike 1x5, the Trollop with the Scallop is one of the more printable ones - as for the
O'Connell St. Spire -best not go there!
Not really a quiz, just a free association word linkage where all are welcome, the worst that could happen if you entered would be that you might score.
Handbaglady, crofter has given you your two points in his amended league table.
And miss meg, if you are still out there a reminder that your link of Manchester is too long.
